Do the letters SB ring a bell?

Susan Boyle, a 47-year old woman from Scotland, shook the foundations of the program Britain’s Got Talent. As she appeared on stage the judges and the audience had their scathing judgment, which was simply based on her appearance, ready. When she opened her mouth and sang I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserable everyone went wild. Susan’s clip has had 50 million views on YouTube. She has appeared on the CNN’s Larry King, The Early Show (CBS), and has been invited to Oprah Winfrey’s talk show. She has proved that your talent does not have to be related to your appearance.

Susan Boyle can start a training on how to become an immediate star. She has shown that one should not be judged by the outside, but by the talent. As Lisa Schwarzbauw said: “She (Susan) ordered the measure of beauty”. Susan showed not only Britain, but the whole world that she has got talent. Being young, slim, sexy and glamorous are items that are not on her list. Her beauty is within her voice. Though she already has been invited here and there I do hope that she will not change and still be the person she is right now. A humble, loving and caring woman.

  1. A very good piece, you've hit the nail on the head so to speak. I agree with you the real beauty is from within. We live in an age where everything had to be marketable. I think that is a shame.

I like your subject and agree with your reaction.

  2. I have not seen the program, but she was all over the news including the Dutch news. Therefore I had the opportunity to hear her beautiful singing. As you already said, she is not a beauty but she has got a phenomenal voice.

Your reaction was interesting to read.

  3. I have not seen the programme but I have heard that this lady is, with her appearance, a vexed question in almost whole over the world. I really do agree with you that beauty is from within. Appearance sells nowadays, she could choose to be makes all over but I think that real talent will never fare away and that is the point. We should concentrate on that and not on someones appearance

  4. Apparently you need the full package to be successful in the music business, especially as a woman. This is what the recent years have proved us. It should not be this way, but Susan Boyle will not be an everlasting star.
